New Cathedral

The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, whose construction dates back to 1882, is considered a symbol of the city’s religious architecture and one of the greatest works in all of Latin America. Its gothic, romanesque, and Renaissance style stands out in its interior for its colorful stained glass and its details in gold leaf and marble.

Flowers Market

A large outdoor flower market is considered one of the best places to enjoy the aromas and colors of flowers. Flowers of all varieties and colors are displayed in dozens of stalls in the Plaza, surrounded by friendly sellers.

El Barranco

The Tomebamba River Ravine comprises 2 kilometers from the El Vado Bridge to the Huayna Capac Av. It has a spectacular view of the Tomebamba River, where you can find coffee shops and restaurants to enjoy a delicious evening.

Turi Lookout

The natural lookout at Cuenca’s Heights offers a spectacular view of the entire city. It encloses a church with its square bearing the same name. The place is sculpted in stone and is embedded in the mountain.

Paja Toquilla Hat Factory

Manufacturing toquilla thatch hats is a tradition, transformed into art, in Ecuador. This factory is more than 60 years old, not only functions as a factory but also as a museum. Here, we can contemplate and appreciate the process of production and textures of traditional hats.

 Verified Perfect tour of cotopaxi Excellent tour. Picked up on the from hotel on time and excellent communication. The driver Guillo was very safe and made very smooth turns. Tour guide Diana was friendly and knowledgeable. Scenery was beautiful. They took is to eat in delicious, authentic and reasonablely priced restaurant. No complains, everything was great.

 Verified Cotopaxi Day Tour We had a great time. Guillo picked us up from hotel and drove us to Cotopaxi. Our guide, Diana, was very knowledgeable and passionate about the volcano, history and Pachamama (mother earth). Lunch was delicious, too. Highly recommended tour.

 Verified Todo fue muy bueno, 100% remendado Hicimos el tour al Volcán Cotopaxi y fue una experiencia excelente. Nuestra guía, Pamela, fue espectacular: explicó cada detalle del lugar con claridad y conocimiento, y supo manejar muy bien el ritmo del grupo para aprovechar el tiempo y la energía durante todo el recorrido.Visitamos varios puntos, incluyendo la laguna, y todo estuvo muy bien organizado. Es un tour exigente físicamente, no es sencillo, por lo que recomiendo ir bien abrigados, con buenas zapatillas y en condición física al menos regular.Gran experiencia, totalmente recomendado.

 Verified Fine tour to get closer to the Cotopaxi The booking oand communication with the tour agency (https://quitotourbus.com/) were easy and quick. (With the agency, the tour is only USD 49 and you can get a 5% online discount!) I got several Whatsapp messages with tour infos and the pick-up confirmation - a few minutes prior to pick-up, Dani (the guide) called me to advise that the bus was almost there.The bus had some 15 seats in a 2-1 configuration with sufficient leg space for larger persons. The guide Dani was quite chatty and shared a lot of details in good English (and Spanish), and the driver Andrés was friendly and helpful.The walk up to the refuge was strenous but manageable, even though now in February (rainy season) there was some snowfall (like on most days) and the conditions were not very good, but it was worth the tour.

 Verified Enjoyable Tour A challenging hike for sure, but so pleased with our tour guide Veronica. She really helped and supported us to complete the trail. Our driver Andres got us to/from Cotopaxi safely. In addition to the hike, we enjoyed the stops we made along the way and the opportunity for lunch on the way back.

 Verified One of the best tours I’ve been I want to thank Fer for helping me so much fin the climp to the Cotopaxi. He helped me so much with breathing exercises to help me with the altitude. Also, he is very knowledgeable about the country. The driver was amazing too, great driving skills.
